Close to a year ago Jennifer and I had starting coming up with ideas for a new business. It started with a frustration with the restaurants in the New York area and their lack of baby changing tables in the restrooms. What it morphed into was Modern Moppet...
We launched www.ModernMoppet.com February 24th at 10:00 pm EST. The concept was to offer modern baby clothes and unique toddler clothes. We have done this with brands like Knuckleheads Clothing and Creative Recreation.

P.S. - Check out Zutano. We put Aven in the Baby Basics line until he was too big to fit. It is a great line, casual but unique.
Yesterday I was on the subway headed to gathering downtown with a friend and had to take the 1 line. It was so hot that day and the subway was close to unbearable.
We squeezed on to a subway car and held on as good as we could with how slam packed it was. At the next stop a woman was trying to get out of her seat and around me. As I looked down at her I saw a guys hands trying to pull my iPod out of my bag. I of course quickly pulled my bag away and he hurried out of the subway car with the crowd.
I have been in NY for over 3 years and never had that happen. It has been in the same place on my bag since I moved here. The funniest part about it is the iPod is about 4 years old and probably as very little value.
I have been reading about a possible iPod software change that will prevent an iPod from charging if not paired with its owners iTunes. I think this is a great idea. It will only take a few stolen iPods for these jack asses to realize they are wasting their time...

So ya, this is not much of a blog considering I have not updated it in 6 months. I am still alive if anyone cares :-)
Finally have a free SSH client for the Blackberry. Now with 3.8 you no longer need BES for TCP/IP.
Please get out and vote. I don't care who you are voting for. As long as you make an effort to show the American government that we will get off our asses and make a decison!

This last weekend was pretty chill. Jenn and I spent the weekend just enjoying the good weather and getting out in the city. Friday night it was raining so we went to get some slices and came back with some movies. Other than Monster, the other movies we not worth mentioning.
Saturday was great because the sun came out and we decided to go to the Upper East Side. We walked around there for a while and ended up at this hole in the wall Mexican joint. Nowhere near as good as the places in Houston but it was some of the best we have had since we moved to NYC.
We decided to check out this place we kept seeing on the way home called Rare View. I had eaten at the restaurant a few times but hadn't been up on the rooftop. Very cool place. They had great music, from Kool and the Gang to Outkast. They had these neat little beds that you could chill on. Very laid back crowd. Only thing that sucked was the drink prices and the fact that they had no cider draft. Other than that it was a great ending to the day we had.

You gotta love it when its 65 degrees in the middle of June. No sweating balls, no nasty humidity. This last weekend was perfect. Sunday we decided to go out to the park in Hoboken overlooking NYC with some friends in Jersey. Everything was awesome. I can't wait to do it again!

It has been a while since I have posted though I have good reasons! The move to NYC went very well. I love it here even though my job isn't what I expected it to be.
The people here are pretty cool. They seem to take their time opening up though and are not as friendly as people in the south. Not that I didn't expect that but it does make living here not as warm in all aspects as Houston ;-)
We have had a lot of fun just hanging out in pubs and going to central park as well as just walking around. I do enjoy not having to deal with a car. Walking a lot hasn't bothered me at all. Of course summer really hasn't started yet here and I assume thats going to suck.
Well I sold my 350z today. Kinda feels wierd not having a car. Guess I better get used to it! I will say I had a lot of fun driving it. Hope the new owner takes good care of it LOL!
All I can say is it was paradise. One of the best vacations we have ever been on. Total relaxation. We did all kinds of stuff from riding ATVs to snorkeling. The weather was beautiful while we were there too. Jennifer and I also picked up a very slick painting from a local artist in Maui. Can't wait to get it on the wall in our new place in NY!
We are getting ready to leave for Maui for about 5 days. Should be pretty awesome. We both have been to Honolulu and loved it. We are hoping to get a jeep and explore the island as much as possible. I will post pictures when we get back!
Jenn and I stayed at home this New Years eve since she has a nasty cold. Though we still enjoyed the time to relax and just watch some of the celebrations on the TV. We rented a really bad movie, my fault, Dream Catcher. Looks like it won’t be long before we are packing up the U-Haul and moving to New York. I am hoping next New Years eve we will be in Time Square making up for this year :-)
I just got a Garmin GPS 12 from my mom for xmas. Looks pretty cool, though I am still trying to figure it all out. My friend who hosts ProSourceGPS.com hooked me up with the data cable for my laptop. It should be here friday. Can't wait to try it out with NetStumbler!
Jennifer and I went down to college station for the night to visit some friends visiting from NewYork. The drive is pretty easy, first trip I have taken the Z on. We some how ended up at the VFW and they were doing karaoke. This time I stayed away from the mic but was drunk enough to dance :) Overall it was a nice quick trip.
Looks like the new season starts March 7th, can't wait!
Went up to Bama to see Jennifer's family. Had a pretty good time, though didn't have net while I was there because the coverage there sucks. I got this neat little game console thing that is an Atari built into the controller. It has 10 games on it, like pong and breakout. It was a gift from Jennifer's cousin. Check it out...
So I am still trying to get time to mess around with the movable type templates and css. If you come to the site and see it all wacked out you will know why :-)
Just got back from Winter Park. Had an awesome time snowboarding and hanging out in the small town. Stopped by Golden on the way back to Denver and checked out the Coors plant.
